Eight companies are working alongside experts and peers for 12 weeks to create robust strategies for scaling up their company’s projects globally in our programme; 100ScaleUPs.

Experience based learning is the hallmark of the 100ScaleUp programme which is designed to stress test your growth strategy making sure that the market wants what you have to offer and boosting your growth with tools taught by world class lecturers at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship in Boston.

The first of five modules was held in Oslo 15-17 November with eight participating technology companies Blue Lice, Hydrogen Mem-Tech, Scantrol, Visavi, Unifai, Ecosubsea, Fieldmade and Ocean Space Acoustics.

The companies are introduced to mentors and investors, among them investor Johan Odvar Odfjell who has a long track record within the shipping industry and Professor Bill Aulet, serial entrepreneur and Managing Director at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.

An important factor that we learnt through this programme was the importance of opting out and focusing on the right things, something we did, and which today has resulted in a breakthrough for the product Drillwatch, Bjarte Fagerås, ex-CEO of Octio Group, participant in 2018.

The 2021 programme is a collaboration between BI Norwegian Business School, Kongsberg InnovasjonStiftelsen Teknologformidling, Martin Trust Centre for MIT Entrepreneurship in Boston and GCE Ocean Technology.

Making Sure the Dog will Eat the Dogfood

One of the core modules is a week at MIT in Boston where the participants in addition to attending lectures also will meet and mingle with MITs world class faculty and entrepreneurs. Estimates show that 30.000 companies have become established by persons from MIT, among them are companies like Intel, HP og Qaulcomm.

The Boston module is held by the reputable Professor Bill Aulet, Managing Director, Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, who gives the participants many a light-bulb-moment through the 24-step Disciplined Entrepreneurship roadmap.

This model is merging the best from methods like Lean Startup, Design Thinking, Jobs to Be Done and Business Model Canvas to give a roadmap in the entrepreneurial journey to success and make sure “the dog will eat the dogfood”.

100ScaleUp is an annual programme and applications are handled on an ongoing basis: Learn more about the 100ScaleUp programme.
