Highlights from ONS

The GCE Ocean Technology stand served the purpose as a "harbour" for conversations throughout the ONS week.

It was a great pleasure to be part of a buzzing ONS this week, where the theme was trust and the backdrop was the energy transition.

To summarize the ONS experience into one encapsulating caption is pretty daunting - guess you had to be there, but we can confirm the claim that ONS felt like one big handshake.

Here are some of the highlights from the ONS week for GCE Ocean Technology:

A harbour for conversations

We kicked off the ONS week with an informal social gathering and networking on Monday afternoon and it was great to see that the stand was brimming with visitors.

We would like to thank all of you who visited our stand.

Energy islands, offshore grids and renewable energy

Collaboration, courage, boldness, clarity, new solutions and speed, were some of the keywords that emerged during our debate on energy islands, offshore grids and renewable energy at ONS.

Karianne Kojen Andersen, Innovation Manager at GCE Ocean Technology led the debate between Statnett SF , Ørsted, Shell and Equinor.

It was a pleasure for GCE Ocean Technology to be co-hosting the event together with Esbjerg Kommune , Business Esbjerg and Invest in Denmark.

A part of the ONS Scale-Ups Arena

– To reflect on your own growth strategy together with mentors, piers and colleagues is a major key takeaway from the Ocean Tech Scaling Program, said Rune Bringedal, CEO at Imenco to the crowd at the ONS Scale-Ups Arena.

Together with Owe Hagesæther (GCE Ocean Technology) and Dan Bjørke (BI - Norwegian Business School), he offered insights into the Ocean Tech Scaleup Programme which involves learning scaling philosophies, strategic tools and the mindset needed to develop businesses to grow and expand.

A new round of the Ocean Tech Scaling Program will start this autumn, where selected companies will have a unique opportunity to develop their growth strategy and networks to upgrade their businesses. Read more and sign-up for this year’s programme

Pitching at ONS Centre Court

Imenco and Odfjell Oceanwind were two of our member companies that were invited to ONS' Centre Court to pitch how their technology contributes to reaching a nature positive economy.

Eight companies pitched on how to use business models and technology to reach net zero and a nature positive economy, whereupon Håkon Haugli, CEO of Innovation Norway, literally kneeled down in front of them in expression of awe.
