Imenco wins Cluster Company of the Year Award

The award consists of a diploma and 90.000 NOK sponsored by Sparebanken Vest and was handed out by GCE Ocean Technology under the Underwater Technology Conference this week.

– It’s an honor to receive this award on behalf of Imenco and this is a result of a fantastic team of dynamic, forward leaning colleagues that pushes technology forward daily, says Rune Bringedal, CEO of Imenco.

– In addition to our technical expertise, we have a great team that manages to spot emerging markets and changes in existing business areas and make sure we utilize and commercialize the products and services as best we can. GCE Ocean Technology is a great contributor by facilitating a variety of spot-on events where we are happy to attend, learn and also share knowledge, Bringedal explains.

Imenco was established in 1979 and has grown through the development of their own solutions and through the acquisition of other companies and is now a group of companies working mainly in five main business areas: Offshore oil & gas, offshore renewables, aquaculture, marine & naval and industrial.

The jury’s reasoning

Imenco is an active member of GCE Ocean Technology who has contributed to the cluster by sharing their knowledge and experiences consistently with the rest of the cluster, as well as partaking in cluster growth- and crossover programmes, they have received pre-project funding and taken part in numerous events.

– Imenco is a prime example of a company that understands how to benefit from a cluster and that has also evolved and grown despite of tough market challenges also through technology transfer, says Owe Hagesæther, CEO of GCE Ocean Technology, who handed out the award together with Kai Stoltz, Business Development Manager.

About the award

Cluster Company of the Year Award is a price presented by GCE Ocean Technology and Sparebanken Vest.

The price consists of 90,000 NOK for development projects in the company and a diploma.

The objective with the award is to recognize cluster members who largely has contributed to the development of the cluster GCE Ocean Technology,and to contribute to the development and commercialisation of cluster companies that offer products, concepts and services within the ocean technology industry and who has managed to grow their company.

The award is handed out every year under the Underwater Technology Conference.
