Kluge + CMS

Norwegian law firm Kluge joins forces with CMS, uniting over common goals in energy, technology, M&A and ESG. CMS currently has 79 offices in 44 countries and employs more than 5,000 lawyers worldwide.

– Norwegian companies are increasingly demanding legal advice across national borders. As part of CMS, we can advise our clients even better and more efficiently in assignments that have an international aspect, says Bjørnar Alterskjær, managing partner at Kluge.

With more than 450 energy and climate change lawyers, the CMS Energy and Climate Change practice is one of the largest of its kind in the world. As an example, CMS has worked on more than 80 offshore wind projects worldwide, with a combined capacity of more than 38 GW. CMS is also very strong within oil and gas, intellectual property rights/technology and corporate/M&A.

– These resources we will be able to immediately draw on, says Alterskjær.

In October, after the integration process has been completed, Kluge will change its name to CMS Kluge.

– We believe an increased international commitment is a natural next step in Kluge's 100-year legacy. CMS and Kluge is a perfect match, Alterskjær adds.

CMS expands in Norway.

Green Ducklings + Kluge

Earlier this year, Kluge announced its strategic collaboration with Danish offshore wind consulting agency Green Ducklings. Kluge and Green Ducklings offer both separate and combined services to companies with ambitions in offshore wind, including in e.g. development and implementation of internationalization strategies, acquisitions, IPOs and when bringing new technology to the offshore wind market.
