Owe Hagesæther CEO of GCE Ocean Technology in panel debate under the session «Creating a sustainable international energy ecosystem at AOG.

We presented, debated and met with collaborators under the Australasian Oil and Gas Conference in Perth – paving the way for potential new markets and valuable connections for our cluster.

According to Rystad Energy, Australia’s renewable sector is poised for new records in 2020. They expect among other things, eight new Australian wind farms, with a combined capacity of 1.57 GWac, to complete commissioning this year.

Expanding Our Cluster Alliance

Owe Hagesæther, CEO at GCE Ocean Technology were on-site at AOG to meet with the Australian Subsea Innovation Cluster and other partners. Moreover, to present our cluster and the BlueTech Cluster Alliance that our cluster is a part of.

The BlueTech Cluster Alliance (BTCA) is an international network of ocean technology clusters that are committed to sharing and working together. BTCA is a powerful alliance and tool if you will, connecting mature and strong ocean cluster ecosystems around the world together.

Australia, along with the rest of the world, must ensure that the offshore energy industry is future-ready by creating a sustainable ecosystem that will rise to the challenge of meeting the world’s evolving energy requirements. This requires extensive collaboration on a global level, and we are very pleased that Mr. Owe Hagesæther, CEO of GCE Ocean Technology will share his experience from their pioneering work in Norway and within the BlueTech Cluster Alliance, Bernadette Cullinane, Partner and Australian Oil, Gas & Chemicals Leader Deloitte.

BTCA clusters members commit to collaborating internationally, thinking globally and acting locally to promote sustainable, science-based ocean industries.

GCE Ocean Technology met with SICA - Subsea Innovation Cluster Australia - to discuss how they can join in and strengthen the alliance.
