The Blue Eclipse ready for its first mission
Last week Blue Eclipse® arrived in Norwegian waters and is gearing up for its first mission - to survey over 675 km² in the North Sea.
– With full control from our onshore remote operations centre in Aberdeen, we're set for operations in water depths ranging from 90 to 250 m for the Mareano program, says Jan Arvid Ingulfsen, Business Development Manager for Maritime Security & Surveillance in Fugro.
Fugro's 18 m uncrewed surface vessel (USV), Blue Eclipse®, is engineered for the future of over-the-horizon remote operations.
Although, Fugro operates 10–12-meter USV’s in several countries, this is the first 18-meter USV launched.
Launched last week in Bergen
Last week, the USV was christened, followed by a live demo and a guided tour at Fugro in Bergen.
Blue Eclipse® is ready to support critical marine projects with advanced remote inspection and light intervention capabilities. Built to withstand harsher environments, it brings greater endurance and more power, while improving operational safety and reducing emissions according to Fugro.
