Kristin Sand Bakken is Innovation Manager in Corvus Energy
Kristin Sand Bakken is Innovation Manager in Corvus Energy

With a passion for innovation and a mindset straight out of Pippi Longstocking’s playbook, Kristin is exploring how generative AI, machine learning, and data can unlock new opportunities.

In this edition of our Cluster Insight series, we speak with Kristin Sand Bakken from Corvus Energy, to gain insights into her current focus, future challenges, and the benefits of cluster membership.

1. What is your role in Corvus Energy?

Innovation Manager, with responsibilities related to digitalization and business development.

2. Your main focus at work right now is?

Right now, I’m working on how we can implement both generative AI and machine learning in the organization, as well as focusing on our customer portal where clients gain insights into their data from their battery systems.

With generative AI and machine learning, we can automate complex analyses and processes, improve decision-making, and create more intuitive user experiences.

We're working on predictive models for battery performance and intelligent data visualization. One of the goals is to make insights both more accessible and more valuable for our clients.

3. Biggest future challenges and opportunities?

The green transition has only just begun.

There is enormous potential for electrification in the ocean industries, and combined with data, there are many exciting opportunities ahead.

4. Best part of being member in a cluster?

Access to many skilled professionals in various companies in the industry.

5. Your business/life motto?

A bit like Pippi: I have never done this before, so I think I can do it.

The challenges aren’t always solved right away, but you have to stick with it and accept that it’s okay to fail.

That’s when you learn the most! When working with innovation, you’re lucky to be exposed to many challenges and potential solutions.

6. Which cluster member should we interview next?

It could be interesting to hear more from Odfjell Oceanwind or Hardanger Hydrogen Hub.

Thank you for the insight Kristin.
