Another Subsea Course Completed
The second Subsea Next Course of the year — organized in collaboration with CCB Subsea, OneSubsea, and TechnipFMC — is now completed.
Three full days were dedicated to providing participants with a thorough introduction to subsea technology.
Participants came from across Norway, as well as from Germany and the Netherlands, representing companies such as Jupa, Havport, 4Subsea, Oceaneering Asset Integrity, Harbour Energy, W-Sense, SolarDuck, Equinor, and Bosch Rexroth AG.
Norway's 50+ years of subsea history
There was great engagement throughout the course — especially during discussions about Norway’s 50+ years of subsea history.
It all started with the first subsea well in 1971, followed by decades of innovation in concepts, technology, standardization, and subsea processing as presented by Cecilie Sælen from CCB Subsea.
Over the three days, participants received a comprehensive theoretical introduction to subsea technology and had the opportunity to visit the workshop facilities at CCB Subsea, OneSubsea, and TechnipFMC — gaining hands-on insight into cutting-edge subsea solutions.

Today, the Norwegian Continental Shelf and Norwegian subsea suppliers remain among the world’s leading players in offshore innovation.
Cecilie Sælen, CEO at CCB Subsea, encouraged participants to explore more about the history of Norwegian subsea development by visiting Equinor’s 50 Years of Subsea History page and watching the TV series Lykkeland (State of Happiness) — available internationally on platforms such as BBC, Apple TV+, and Prime Video.
