This week, people from industry, academia, municipalities, clusters, and local government gathered around the same table in Bergen. Shared agenda: how to work together on offshore wind.

Vestlandshuset, 28 August – The background is the VindVest project, which concluded that we need stronger collaboration. Our Renewable Energy Resource Group sent the same signal. Now we’re acting on it – with a new project that builds on those findings: SAMvind.

What will we achieve?

Our goals in this project are to:

  • Unite stakeholders in Vestland to position the county as a leading offshore wind region.
  • Create arenas for collaboration on spatial planning, ports, and bases – making the most of our comparative advantages.
  • Strengthen knowledge about North Sea market opportunities, so that Vestland’s supply industry can win positions and market share nationally and internationally.

Kjell Eirik Haavold from HavvindNO – the National Competence Center for Offshore Wind – presented insights from the reports havnERGI and VindKOMP shedding light on some of the points that are important pieces for the road ahead.
