This week, we had the pleasure of interviewing Sander Henriksen of Nordic USV, a company that develops and operates unmanned vessels (USV’s) to deliver fresh coastal data with sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

1. What is your role in Nordic USV?

As the CEO of Nordic Usv, my role entails setting and implementing a clear strategy to drive the company towards our defined goals. The team and

I frequently collaborate to establish milestones and develop plans to achieve them effectively. Additionally, I represent the company externally, engaging with partners and potential users of our service.

2. Your primary focus at work right now is?

Currently, our main focus is to align the intended operational processes of the company with existing and potential legal frameworks while simultaneously preparing the necessary infrastructure for the launch of our service next year.

3. Biggest challenges and opportunities for Nordic USV in the future?

With the establishment of infrastructure including unmanned vessels and docking stations for these vessels, some opportunities could be to expand our market in multiple directions.

Some of these potential avenues include providing assistance in search and rescue operations, engaging in "micro-shipping" services, as well as exploring offshore possibilities.

4. Best part of being member in a cluster?

The reason for joining GCE Ocean Technology was simply to gain a better understanding of an exciting industry and to connect with potential collaboration partners or other companies with similar synergies. 

5. Your business/life motto

My mindset often revolves around the belief that “there is always a way" to accomplish things, so we go for that one! 

6. Which cluster member should we interview next?

I think that W-sense should be interviewed next time.
