Fieldmade, a start-up company in our cluster, has been selected as one of ten companies among hundreds of applicants across the world to partake in the prestigious accelerator programme Techstars Energy.

Techstars Energy is known for being a prestigious accelerator where the selection of participants is hard and thorough. We are proud to announce that our member Fieldmade has been selected as one of ten participants in the class of 2019.

13 Intensive Weeks

As part of class of 2019, Fieldmade will seek to accelerate their development through an intensive 13-week programme, tapping into a global network of experts from Equinor and Techstars, as well as the partnering companies KONGSBERG and Capgemini.

Engagement Pays Off

Being a start-up company can be very challenging and it is important to snatch every opportunity to build competence and meet potential investors, partners and customers. GCE Ocean Technology offers a multitude of programmes to support and ease the road to commercialisation.

Accel Energy is one such programme offered, to support the industry since 2011 and Fieldmade participated in 2018. In 2019 they were awarded the price Subsea Upcoming company of the year for their promising additive manufacturing solutions at the Underwater Technology Conference in Bergen.

Another annual event we arrange is “Meet Equinor Technology Ventures” where a panel from Equinor meet with 10 of our member companies with novel energy technology. This year we invited Techstars Energy CEO Audun Abelsnes to join our panel, and get a glimpse in to some of our promising member companies. – Fieldmade is a very promising and disruptive company. We were first introduced to Fieldmade by GCE Ocean Technology at their Equinor pitch event in February, says Audun Abelsnes, CEO at Techstars Energy.

The Cluster Effect

This case is a perfect example of how GCE Ocean Technology work on a daily basis to offer relevant programmes, connect actors with cluster players and contribute to growth, and we congratulate Fieldmade with their success and exiting times ahead.

We would also like to congratulate Ragnarock Geo as the second of only three companies from Norway selected for the Techstars Energy class of 2019. Ragnarock Geo was one of the companies pitching on stage at our Technology Breakfast at OTC in Houston in May.
