Get a proper introduction to CCUS. A course aimed at those who work – or wish to work – with CO₂ capture, utilisation or storage, or who want to strengthen their expertise in the field.
Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) is becoming a key technology in the green transition.
The course provides a comprehensive and practice-oriented introduction to the CCUS value chain, and no prior knowledge is required.
There will be a good mix of presentations from industry experts and leading researchers, as well as tour of facilities.
Course objectives
- Build a fundamental understanding and knowledge of the CC(U)S value chain, from capture to storage, including utilization opportunities
- Learn about technology, materials, risk, and future solutions
- Create a foundation for collaboration between industry, academia, and public authorities
- Contribute knowledge that strengthens Norway’s position in CCS/CCUS

Day One – Value Chain

Day Two – Capture and Materials
Venue: VilVite, Bergen
- Capture technologies
- Material challenges
- CO2 specification
- Fiscal metering and analysis
- Tour of DNV and UiB lab facilities (TBC)
Day Three – Transport, Storage and Safety
Venue: Northen Lights, Øygarden
- Introduction to Northern Lights
- Transport of CO2
- Geological storage and well integrity
- CO2 monitoring, risk and safety
- Tour of facilities
Participation and Costs
- GCE Ocean Technology members: NOK 13,400 excl. VAT
- Non-members: NOK 15,500 excl. VAT
