Top Score in Cluster Management

Cluster Gold Label
Cluster Gold Label

Once again, we achieved top score on the cluster management excellence evaluation, and was awarded with the Gold Label.

The Gold Label certificate is granted by the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI) to cluster organisations that receive at least 80% on their cluster management excellence score.

In March 2019 we did a re-assessment of all 31 indicators and we are happy to report that the validity was extended for another two years.

"There has been an impressive development in transforming the cluster since the last re-certification in 2015, and we found clear evidence of very good results."

Our Timeline

It is mandatory to qualify for the Gold Label to be able to remain in Norwegian Innovation Clusters programme. GCE Ocean Technology's timeline for the assessment for Gold label is as follows:

  • 2013: Awarded Gold Label with a 100% score
  • 2015: Awarded Gold Label with a 96% score
  • 2019: Awarded Gold Label with a 98% score.

Overall Appreciation

Two independent cluster experts assessed a total of 31 quality indicators by interviewing the cluster manager and relevant staff members. The findings from the interviews must be substantiated by relevant documents provided by the cluster organisation. For each quality indicator a specific quality threshold must be passed.

The assessment report particularly emphasises our efforts in the new GCE Ocean Technology strategy.
