Ocean Innovation Norwegian Catapult Centre

Ocean Innovation Norwegian Catapult Center (OINC) will build and make available world-leading expertise and infrastructure to accelerate growth and sustainable development of the ocean industries.

The goal is to realise faster blue growth and green restructuring in the industries through efficient prototyping and verification of new technology and new solutions. OINC will focus on new technological applications and processes within the marine industries.

GCE Ocean Technology has been instrumental in establishing the Ocean Innovation Catapult (OINC) that was granted by SIVA in June 2018 at the SIVA conference.

Project Owners Consortium consisting of GCE Ocean Technology, VIS, NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster, Prototech, Stiftelsen Industrilaboratoriet (ILAB), University of Bergen (UiB), DNV GL and Marineholmen Forskningspark. OIC is collaborating with a wide range of national and international leading companies, research institutes and test centres.

Result
Phase 1 - Total budget of approximately 84 million NOK. Application was granted and OINC is established. The next phase in the project is to implement the strategy and business plan.
