Cluster Insight with Aragon

Kristian Utkilen, CEO of Aragon, shares how the company is transitioning into new energy markets, explores opportunities in blue ammonia and CO₂ treatment — and highlights why listening to others is key to future growth.
In this edition of our Cluster Insight series, we speak with Kristian Utkilen, CEO of Aragon, a company that has evolved from being a player in offshore oil, gas, and floating LNG (FLNG) to focusing on sustainable energy solutions.
1. What is your role in Aragon?
I serve as the CEO of Aragon AS.
2. Your primary focus at work right now is?
Continue Aragon´s transformation towards a New Energy and CCUS strategy, while still serving the oil and gas sector and the emerging LNG market.
3. Biggest future challenges and opportunities?
The greatest opportunity and challenge lie in orchestrating the value chain of blue ammonia, which includes constructing the at-shore production facility.
Additionally, participating in the emerging CO2 market and introducing our innovative Condensia technology presents a groundbreaking solution for CO2 treatment and purification.
This technology should meet the highest standards at a competitive price and efficiency.
4. Best part of being member in a cluster?
To gain fresh perspective about our company, we should listen to the experiences and feedback of other individuals and organisations.
Their insights can help us understand who we are and how we can grow.
5. Your business or life motto?
When we are fortunate enough to be born and raised in Norway, we should embrace bold actions when necessary. Sometimes, taking a significant risk is the only path to achieving something new, worthwhile, and groundbreaking.
6. Which cluster member should we interview next?
I recommend interviewing Hanne Misje Lokøy from CCB.
Thank you for the insight Kristian!
