Participants of our ScaleUP programme are in Boston this week to boost their growth strategies by learning first hand from a world-renowned faculty; the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.

A very demanding and exciting part for the companies in our 12-week ScaleUp programme is the one-week intense training at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship in Cambridge Massachusetts.

In this module, we have worked in workshops and applied expertise to all participating companies' growth strategies and business plans.

Learning from Serial Entrepreneurs

The participants learnt about the entrepreneurial mindset and processes and listened to inspirational and lecturing speeches from renowned serial entrepreneurs regarding scaling your team, customer and market focus, execution excellence and raising capital. The participants also pitched their projects in front of a panel of investors and senior advisors.

The module was led by Bill Aulet, Managing Director of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship. Before joining MIT, Aulet had a 25-year track record of success in business himself. He has directly raised more than $100 million in funding for his companies and more importantly has led to the creation of hundreds of millions of dollars in market value in those companies.

Participants from the Cluster

This year there are four participating member companies from the GCE Ocean Technology cluster which have qualified for the programme; Metas, Imenco, Aquafarm Equipment and Unitech Offshore.

They will use this experience to further expand their businesses both nationally and internationally.
There are also four companies from Eastern Norway in the programme; Predictor, (also targeting the ocean industries), Decon-X, Mentis Cura and Prediktor Instruments who are all very promising HealthTech companies.

Final Modules in Oslo and Bergen

In the two remaining modules, the participants will continue to work on their key take-aways from the week in Boston, accompanied by regional workshops focusing on feedback, discussions and pitching for an expert panel and investors.

How to Participate

GCE Ocean Technology are funding the programme for our members, but the programme is open for all. We are already planning the third edition of the ScaleUP programme – please contact us if you would like to learn more.
