Visit from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy

State Secretary Rikard Gaarder Knutsen from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy visited the GCE Ocean Technology Cluster this week.

Gaarder Knutsen visited the cluster together with Assistant Director Jorunn Anne Salthella from OED. They came to learn more about the industries’ challenges and opportunities and how the cluster work together to find new business opportunities within the Ocean Industries.

Ecosystem for Innovation

We gave an overview of the clusters, its revised strategy and how we work to strengthen the ecosystem for innovation. Key projects in focus were:

• Entrepreneurship and Business development
• Market: both oil and gas and our focus on cross-over to new ocean industries
• Technology, competence and infrastructure, with special focus on the establishment of the Ocean Innovation Norwegian Catapult.

Gaarder Knutsen also toured the premises of VIS including VIS Nyskapingsparken and Ocean Industries Accelerator where he spoke with cluster members Updown Prosjekt and Develogic.

Dialogue Meeting at Ågotnes

After his visit at Marineholmen – Gaarder Knutsen travelled to Ågotnes for a tour around the TechnipFMC facilities followed by a dialogue meeting with Equinor, CCB, TechnipFMC, Aker Solutions, Fabtech and GCE Ocean Technology.
